PPBL has gotten a formal gesture from the RBI to begin onboarding new clients while continuing KYC for the bank and wallet clients beginning from December 31, 2018. 


Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) has said it has continued to Know Your Customer (KYC) process and onboarding new clients in the wake of getting a formal gesture from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). 

PPBL in June a year ago was requested to quit including new clients after a review by the RBI that mentioned some objective facts about the bank's KYC forms. 

In July a year ago, its then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Renu Satti surrendered from her position and went up against the command of heading Paytm's retail activity. The bank had reserved in veteran investor Satish Gupta as its overseeing chief and CEO in October. 

"PPBL has gotten a formal gesture from the RBI to begin onboarding new clients while continuing KYC for the bank and in addition wallet clients beginning from December 31, 2018," PPBL said in its most recent explanation. 

The announcement included that potential clients would now have the capacity to open their reserve funds or current record with PPBL. 

Installments banks can acknowledge stores from people and private ventures up to Rs 1 lakh for every record. 

PPBL expects to obtain 100 million extra clients before the finish of 2019, the announcement said.
